Easy-Peezy Sugared Walnuts

I love sugared walnuts in my salads, so when I found out you could do them in the microwave in about five minutes, I had to pass the info. on.

2 cups walnuts

1 cup brown sugar

1 T water

Mix it together and set your microwave on high for 5 minutes. Be sure to stir after each minute. The concoction is going to look liquidy first, then thicken up, finally it will have crystals and look like the sugared walnuts you get in a restaurant.

Spray a sheet of aluminum foil with Pam and spread the walnuts on it to cool.

voila! good enough to make a salad more like dessert. 🙂

  1. Hi Laurie! I still so enjoy reading your blogs. As I was reading your “relo” parts, I thought of my own experience with relocating. When I graduated from grad school in 2002 I had no idea where I should go. It was a very troubling time in my life. I prayed and prayed and God answered in the form of my sister-in-law(Corey’s wife). She came to me one day and told me that her heart had been heavy lately. She said that God wanted her to invite me to live with them while I figured things out. Although I did not want to settle in Shreveport, I felt a sense of peace at that time. I still don’t know why God placed me here, but I know it was His will. I am now once again thinking of relocating, but I am not sure where God wants me to go, if anywhere. This is the hard part of being a Christian, I am listening to God or just myself? I pray I listen to Him and definitely not me!!:) Take care and send my love to the family. Mary

  2. Ok, I don’t usually leave comments, but these truly were delicious! We had them when we came to Ohio and they definitely were a real treat! thanks for sharing!

  3. thanks Laurie for the sweet, nutty, crunchy recipe! We had them last night with our pancake & fruit supper. Everyone here enjoyed them! I just got in a 5# bag ($31.00 worth!) of walnuts that I ordered through a food co-op, so it was perfect timing. Thanks too for opening your home again. It is always a blessing to be in your home & be encouraged of God’s Amazing Grace on your lives & in our church!!! p.s.I guess I’m logged in on my daughter’s name . . .oops.
